Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name for Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was birthed in Winona Minnesota. Her parents named their daughter after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author and editors. Ryder's father and mother have both been Jewish. Ryder believes herself to being Jewish. Ryder is the youngest sister of Uria, and has half-siblings Jubal & Sunyata. Ryder's parents moved her and their children to Mendocino County California when Ryder turned seven. In Mendocino County, they did not have electricity. There was no television books were Ryder's only distraction to spend the time and she was a voracious reader. Ryder started to take acting classes at American Conservatory Theatre when she turned 12 years old. Lucas was released in 1986 and Ryder, then barely 15 years old, landed the role of a leading actress. Ryder faced bullying in high school. She hoped acting would bring about a change. But it wasn't to come to be. But she continued to pursue her dreams. In 1988, she got her breakthrough role in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder was able to continue her successful performances in various films. In 1993 she won an Academy Award for The Age of Innocence.
